Pastor Matt Trewhella, May 25th, 2020 This morning our family went to rally with a lone lesser magistrate in Hartford, Wisconsin on this Memorial Day. Last month Mayor Tim Michalak defied the governor and encouraged businesses to open during the ‘Stay at Home’ order and protected the businesses that did open from the state authorities.
And now today, Hartford was the lone city in Wisconsin to observe Memorial Day – all under the direction of Mayor Michalak. All other cities had cancelled their parades. I have posted the mayor’s talk on video below. Men like this are too rare in our day.
I was surprised to see my son Josh come through in a golf cart as the only other participant in the parade besides the veterans. I was honored to have Clara and over 20 of our children and grandchildren there ( we made up about a quarter of the crowd).
Sadly, as I passed by the big hardware stores on the way there – hundreds were busy buying their stuff. They outnumbered those at the parade and observance at least 10 to 1. Sadly – Americans priorities are still massively messed up – still drunk on their wealth and ease. May we live our lives in service to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
