We now commend to you the writings of Pierre Viret. This book is a treasure. Though we do not agree with everything Viret sets forth – there is so much good counsel found within his writings that all should obtain this book and give it a read. These writings are from the 16th century, but are filled with timeless wisdom from Scripture.
The book answers the questions – amongst others – what is the biblical definition of a civil magistrate? Should Christians be subject to them? Should civil governments be subject to God? What is a Christian’s role with respect to the civil sphere?
This is a historical work that every Christian needs to read.
