Sermon on Alfred the Great

My greatest desire in preaching this sermon is that you might see how one man governs his life can impact the lives of countless millions for generations to come, even in many nations. Most Christians have never heard of Alfred the Great. This sermon gives a summary of his life. This sermon repudiates the idea that Christianity should have nothing to do with the governance of nations. This sermon adds to the ongoing discussion of building a Christian society. This sermon ends with a scathing denunciation of Pietism.

King Alfred prompts Christian men to talk about and think on how Christ and Christianity affects nations and cultures. Defines public policy. Provides proper societal norms.

Alfred’s life exposes the miserable ruin of modern day American Christianity. [Click here to listen to the sermon].
