RACINE – Racine County Sheriff Christopher Schmaling issued a press release on Friday, April 17, calling the latest emergency order issued by the governor and the state Department of Health Services “overreaching measures” and unconstitutional.
“Wisconsin law gives the Governor and the Wisconsin DHS the authority to develop emergency measures and enforce rules and orders to protect the public during a health crisis,” Sheriff Schmaling wrote. “However, state law does not have the power to supersede or suspend the Constitutional rights of American citizens.” [click here to read the rest of the news story]
Sheriff Schmaling has demonstrated the doctrine of the lesser magistrates which is rooted in the historic Christian doctrine of interposition. He joins with the Franklin County Sheriff Scott Nichols in Maine (below), and other sheriffs around the country who are refusing to destroy the constitutional rights of Americans.
The role of the people is to prod their magistrates to do right – like they did in Michigan, gathering by the thousands – and then to rally with those magistrates when they do right giving of their possessions, persons, and prayers, both publicly and privately.
Massive protest at the Wisconsin Capitol in Madison planned for Friday, April 24th at 1:00 pm.
